Festival: Alternative Roots
2026
A festival celebrating interdisciplinary ESEA creative practices
Alternative Roots returns to Hoxton Hall for its second edition — a day-long festival celebrating the diversity of East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) creative practices in the UK, creating space for artists, works and ideas that don’t easily fit into existing categories.
Taking over different spaces across Hoxton Hall, the festival brings together live performance, music, film, exhibitions, workshops, conversations, food and more, inviting audiences to discover new work, meet artists and spend time together.
At its heart, Alternative Roots celebrates ESEA creativity in all its complexity — bringing together different disciplines, generations, backgrounds and perspectives, while creating space for experimentation, exchange and community.
Detailed schedule to be announced.
The festival pass provides access to all programme events. You are welcome to leave and re-enter the venue.
