Stitching the Myth: Handcrafted Creatures of Mountains and Seas is a hands-on textile workshop inspired by the mythical creatures described in the ancient Chinese text Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas).

Participants explore storytelling through craft while creating their own imaginative creatures using stitching and textile techniques.

Drawing on traditions of Chinese ethnic minority dress and decorative practices, the session encourages experimentation with fabric, colour and form. Through guided making and discussion, the workshop connects mythology, material culture and contemporary creativity, inviting participants to reinterpret traditional stories through handcrafted objects.
