The Prayers for a Hungry Ghost is an ensemble production that draws on horror, physical performance, live cinema and Chinese mythology to transport audiences into the realm of hungry ghosts. In traditional belief, these figures are reincarnated souls burdened by insatiable desire and endless hunger.

Blending dark humour with haunting imagery, the work unfolds as a family drama set in the underworld, examining intergenerational trauma and the pressures of social expectation. As Big Sister, a celebrated pianist, and Little Sister, afflicted by a mysterious illness, move in opposing directions, their bond is tested in a search for reconciliation.
