State-less is an exhibition at Two Temple Place that brings together installations, moving image, photography and interactive works by internationally recognised Southeast and East Asian artists. The exhibition considers what it means to inhabit complex identities shaped by heritage, migration and nationhood, and how cultural background can inform political engagement and public discourse.
Over four weeks, the exhibition explores the tangible borders and invisible boundaries that shape lived experience. From the migration histories of Vietnamese refugees and Taiwanese soundscapes to post-tsunami Japan and permaculture practices in Hong Kong, the works present perspectives from the region that are seldom encountered in Western contexts.
