Wait I’m From Wuhan is a digital storytelling project that follows Jasmine, a Chinese adoptee raised in England after being abandoned as a baby in Wuhan. As the COVID-19 outbreak brings global attention to the city where she was born, Jasmine begins to question her past and the family she never knew.

Told through a series of Instagram posts and blog entries, the work unfolds as an intimate narrative exploring identity, adoption and belonging. As Jasmine encounters images and news from Wuhan during the pandemic, the project reflects on how global events can reshape personal memory, heritage and one’s relationship to place and family.
