Artist Zhu Dansiyu talks to Whiskey Chow is an online conversation exploring the artist’s practice and the ideas behind her work on gender, autonomy and queer identity.

Through discussion and reflection, Zhu considers themes of female protest, anti-gaze and the social expectations placed on women within contemporary society. Drawing on her cross-cultural background and personal experience, the talk examines how artistic practice can respond to issues surrounding bodily autonomy, marriage systems and the politics of representation.
