Youth Music: Songwriting & Music Production

Dream of writing your own songs or producing your first track?
If you’re 13–18 and love music, this workshop is for you! Over the programme, you’ll get hands-on with everything from songwriting to basic music production—learning directly from industry professionals.
Created in collaboration with Emma Moss (half Chinese, half English singer-songwriter and founding member of ESEA Music), you’ll be guided by Emma and other inspiring ESEA musicians as you dive into the exciting world of music.

Programme:
Tuesday 17th February
🎶Workshop 1, 11:00-13:30: Basics of songwriting & finding your voice (led by Emma-Lee Moss & mui zyu)
🌟Learning key skills of songwriting & how to find your own unique voice in an open and playful environment
🥪Lunch, 13:30-14:30 Participants need to bring/buy their own lunch
🎶Workshop 2, 14:30-17:00: Songwriting & collaboration (led by Emma-Lee Moss & mui zyu)
🌟 Learning how to write a song in a group
Wednsday 18th February
🎶Workshop 3, 11:00-13:30: The Studio Environment (led by Emma-Lee Moss, Andrew Hung & Aileen de la Cruz)
🌟Get comfortable in a studio environment, ask questions of professional songwriters and producers, and learn basic production skills
🥪Lunch, 13:30-14:30 Participants need to bring/buy their own lunch
🎶Workshop 4, 14:30-17:00: Writing a pop song (led by Emma-Lee Moss, Andrew Hung & Aileen de la Cruz)
🌟In this fun and collaborative workshop, you will be given a mystery brief, and guided through the process of writing a pop song
